About Mount Meru

Kilimanjaro's quieter neighbour is a spectacular climb in its own right. Mount Meru stands inside Arusha National Park, so your walk begins among giraffe and buffalo, with an armed ranger beside you the whole way.

The summit ridge follows a narrow crater rim with big drops, and sunrise shows Kilimanjaro floating over the plains. Many climbers use Meru to prepare for Kilimanjaro.
